On Friday, October 10, 2014 nearly 300 health care and gerontology professionals joined the Division of Senior and Adult Services (DSAS) and The MetroHealth System for the 20th Annual Cuyahoga County Conference on Aging at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mayfield Village. The Conference, which theme was “Behavioral Health, Ethics and Aging”, infused a renewed enthusiasm in those who work with older adults and adults with disabilities. The networking and sharing will lead to better community collaboration for best practices; improving diagnosis and treatment; and better quantifying the effectiveness of existing programs and common sense goals that all of us share. Enlightening presentations were given by Mark Aulisio, Ph.D., Director, Center for Bioethics at MetroHealth and Professor of Bioethics at Case Western Reserve University; William M. Denihan, CEO of the Cuyahoga County ADAMSHS Board; and Dr. Mark Hurst, Medical Director of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
